How come it takes 365, sometimes 366 days for the earth to rotate 360º around the sun?
There is a difference between asking ‘why’ or ‘how’.
One implies a need to know, the other empowers a relationship with.
One assumes a lack of information, the other expands an awareness.
This page is simply the sharing of an observation and it perhaps could offer another perception of Ancient Ways. Could, what we refer to as anomalies or adjustments, be more perfectly aligned with what IS, than our calculated or assumed ways?
Note - my observations are relative to sidereal (Lahiri) degrees & where I live.
Generally we follow the 360º path of the sun through the 12 astrological houses;
1º - 30º Aries
1º - 30º Taurus
1º - 30º Gemini
1º - 30º Cancer
1º - 30º Leo
1º - 30º Virgo
1º - 30º Libra
1º - 30º Scorpio
1º - 30º Sagittarius
1º - 30º Capricorn
1º - 30º Aquarius
&
1º - 30º Pisces
So ….How come it takes 365, sometimes 366 sunrises (days) for the earth to rotate 360º around the sun?
The sun rises several times per solar cycle at the same degree for 2 sunrises in a row.
At other times the sun may skip a degree over 2 consecutive sunrises.
The balance of these two occurrences always equates to 5
Eg; rise at the same degree 7 times and skips a degree 2 times 7-2 = 5 days
Or rise at the same degree 6 times and skips a degree 1 time 6-1 = 5 days
Eg 2013
April 10 = 27º Pisces
April 11 = 28º Pisces
April 12 = 29º Pisces
April 13 = 30º Pisces
And then….
April 14
&
April 15
the sun rose at 1º Aries - 2 sunrises in a row at the same degree
Or again 2013
December 6 = 20º Scorpio
December 7 = 22º Scorpio
Between these two sunrises the Sun moved from 20º Scorpio to 22º Scorpio, ‘moving through the entire degree of Scorpio 21º or another way would be to say the sun skipped a degree at sunrise.

These two aspects account for the 365 day solar year and not a 360 day year. Some years this phenomena may vary, although the proportion remains constant and it is these aspects that account for the ‘so called’ additional 5 days per solar year.
The Sun determines Order as we experience IT on earth and perhaps our entire galaxy. Ancient civilisations followed the Sun and their ‘ways’ were in perfect alignment with its Order.
I feel that these additional 5 ‘calendar days’ ,as we perceive them, were not an adjustment made by ancient cultures, It is ‘us’ who refer to these anomalies as calendar adjustments or additions. As maybe, ancient cultures did not have calendars? Perhaps they simply followed the sun, the source of all life and it is we who make the adjustments, to fit our theories or our calendars. The Sun was and still is, that which determines all life and its’ Order does not need adjustment.
The 13:20 Dreamspell account for this +1 with the additional calendar day referred to as DOOT ( Day Out of Time).
The Maya Long Count accounts for these additional 5 sunrises with what is referred to as the UAYEB.
These 5 (6) days are sometimes referred to by historians as ‘Epagomenal’ days or sometimes as ‘intercalary months’. They are a feature of the way in which many ancient civilisations followed Order, symbolised by the sun. Much could be written exploring the different ways with which various civilisations followed Order and their individual relationships with these days, however that is not the intention of this sharing…… which is simply a sharing of an awareness - that ALL is Ordered. There are no exceptions.
Awareness is the intent here, so that a participatory relationship can be experienced NOW, relative to YOU. And ultimately the purpose of this ‘awareness’ is not about ‘knowing information’ it is about ‘being inform-ed’ by IT. BEING at one with IT. Having information, accumulating information, is not the intent, nor the purpose……rather being aware of IT & allowing It to inform, It to move through you….not having and holding.
This is a practise, and the only way to experience it is to participate with It. That is the choice…. How willing are we to let go of what we think…or what we think we should have to be happy, to be healthy, to be peaceful, to be at one with nature etc. Sometimes I consider the metaphor of baby birds perched on the edge of a nest, desiring to fly although hesitant to let go…. Following Order, is about developing Trust, in a power so great that it cannot be doubted….. allowing it to support your being…. And all that takes is choice, the choice to let go…and fly, although it cannot be known by the mind, it must be experienced…. And that is the practise…

Sometimes, I feel people wonder what sort of idiot am I that I write out these insanely long lists of numbers that no-one has yet been curious enough to explore….Although it is being present, in the practise…. A presence that has bought so much joy to me and that instills an unshakeable faith in the Absolute Order of All Being, All Life.
Reading ancient poetry or some other beautiful texts that capture the essence are not the same as experiencing the faith, the awe, the love…… and your own relationship with IT……
The writing of these lists/charts, of which a tiny fraction have been included as examples on this website, are for others to see, as illustrations of the ‘Absolute Perfection’. Yet when I look back I see that the receiving has been/is by me as well. Yet another of the very logical examples of what, spiritual texts have told us for ages…. Presence, Being. Atonement ( at-one-ment)…enough words!

Briefly in addition.
The earth moves 360º around the sun every 365 days for 3 years and it takes 366 days each 4th rotation. Or there are 365 / 6 sunrises before the sun returns to the same place in the sky relative to the earth.
We generally measure a ‘calendar year’ as 365 days, adding an extra day every 4th year (leap year) to accomodate for the anomaly in our measurements.
To attempt to illustrate this extra step every 4 years would require more lists and illustrations…. Which one day I may collate? Very simply though, there are wheels within wheels……a wheel with 2 axes has 4 quadrants and wherever there are 4, 5 is inherently present. A metaphor may illustrate this? — When 2 roads cross the centre point exists, it is not additional.
As the ‘wheel of the sun’ turns, it turns within a greater wheel (not better, only expanded).
Every year for 3 years there is a ‘+ 1’ which maintains and reflects the power of 1 to move. So +1 turns the wheel of the sun and every 4th year there is a +2, to align its dynamic within a ‘greater wheel that is turning too - Constant dynamic order. This is logic, not a calculation, and it is observable. The wheel turns by +1 3 times and then as it turns within the greater wheel there is a +2 (3:2)….A significant proportion that ‘appears’ in multiple explorations of the Tzolkin cycles. The numbers of the Tzolkin symbolise Order….…Order IS, and the story, the theories, including my own are merely ways to make sense of it, to find a meaningful relationship with it….…. To me it simply reflects the ABSOLUTE PERFECTION, the ABSOLUTE PRESENCE of ORDER.
